Ponderize #4
2 Nephi 27:23 "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith."

Weekend Adventure!
McKenzie came all the way up from Snow college to pay us a visit in the land of Logan! It was a blast! We ate at the Bluebird Restaurant, went to Hastings, rode up to the Idaho boarder, cleaned the sink at Angie's and went to the Willow Park Zoo!

Changing Mascots
In January of 2016, I will be trading this shirt...
For this shirt...
Yep. That's right. I'm transferring from Utah State to BYU in January. Why? To become a Family History-Geneology Major! I have such a love and passion for family history that I know it's what I want to do. It feels so right and I feel at peace with my decision, I'm excited to learn even more about this wonderful work and to be a student at BYU.
That being said, it's certainly true that change can also be scary. I'll be going from a group of roommates where I know everyone to roommates where I know no one, from a campus where I know where everything is to a campus where I vaguely know where things are, from where I feel like I have this whole college thing figured out to where I'll have to figure it out all over again. Would it be easier to stay up at Utah State? Maybe. But I know that now BYU is where I need to be. I'll be leaving behind wonderful friends and the fond memories I've made up here at Utah State. I've loved living in and exploring Cache County. I know that coming up to Utah State for my freshman and half of my sophomore year is what I needed to do, I learned things that I could not have learned in any other way. I met friends I otherwise never would have met. I needed the experience of being further away from home to learn and grow, now it's time for me to go back to Utah County and be a student at BYU. I'm both very excited and sad to transfer, but fortunately I still have a couple more months as an Aggie and there's time to enjoy my USU experience to the fullest.
Watch out BYU! I'm coming for you in January!

Scripture of the Week: Hebrews 10:35-36 "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."

Family Names
Lately, I’ve been feeling like I should do family history work more. This past Sunday, I decided to sit down and do it. Then I remembered how much I love it and how much fun it is! I had one little name on my list to take to the temple. It had the minimum information required to take to the temple. I had the prompting to search for her last name. So, I went on ancestry and did some research. I ended up not only finding her last name, but her husband and 5 children who all were not recorded on family search. I made sure there weren't duplicates. Turns out they all needed their work done. One thing lead to another and I ended up with 24 baptisms and a total of 30 names to take to the temple!!! I initially fell into the trap that all my family history was done, but there really always is more to do. As much as I’ve worked on family history, this was the first time I was able to do baptisms for family names. I went with my cousins to do baptisms at the Payson temple this past Thursday during fall break, it was such a neat experience! I love family history!

Ponderize #2
Ponderize Scripture: D&C 11:12 "And now, verily, verily, I say unto thee, put your trustin that Spirit which leadeth to do good—yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit."

Ponderize
I decide to take Brother Devin G. Durrant's ponderize challenge. Brother Durrant spoke in the Sunday afternoon session of General Conference. He said; “The word ‘ponderize’ is not found in the dictionary, but it has found a place in my heart. So what does it mean to ponderize? I like to say it’s a combination of 80 percent extended pondering and 20 percent memorization...You might ask, ‘Why should I do this?' I would answer that we are living in a time of ever spreading evil. We cannot just accept the status quo and be fed ugly words and sinful visuals almost everywhere we turn and do nothing in response. We must fight back. When our minds are filled with uplifting thoughts and images, when we ‘always remember him,’ there is no room left for filth and trash...Ponderizing is somewhat like adding a new time-release vitamin to your current spiritual diet."
To keep track of my ponderizing, I'll try (key word is 'try' ;) and post the scripture I'm ponderizing each Monday. This week's scripture is Alma 30:44, "But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator."

Word on the Street #10
Aleta *About to take a nap on the couch*: "Now shhh Leetie needs her beauty sleep more than most people."
Me: "I'm hungry."
Aleta: I'm hungry too. I can't believe our parents named us the same thing."
Spencer: "Everybody has a relaxed face. Some people's relaxed face looks really angry. I think mine looks angry, so I try not to relax."
Me: "Hark! Who goes there?"
Aleta: "The Herald Angels!"

General Conference
Wow! What an amazing conference weekend this has been! I've loved listening to the powerful talks and testimonies of prophets and apostles. The Spirit has been so strong as their words have testified of Christ, strengthened and uplifted us and have inspired us to do better and improve. I had the opportunity to attend the Sunday morning session at the conference center with awesome friends. It's been a wonderful weekend, I love conference!
